Image
According to a recent New York Times report, Iranian leaders mistakenly assumed that Israel would hold off on launching any military attacks until after a scheduled diplomatic discussion with the United States. This assumption led to critical oversights in Iran’s defense readiness. As a result, Israel was able to carry out surprise airstrikes on more than a dozen Iranian sites, some of which were key strategic facilities.
